Then it’s time to end the rundown on ”Heavy Western” – Lars Lind’s latest album. It’s actually kind of sad, because I don’t know what I am going to write about from now on? I am wondering if I’ll do a summary of the rundown a bit later. Maybe I’ll give it a score aswell?
Today’s song is never the less “Quality Time”, and it’s the last song on the album.
This is what Lars himself has to say about his song
- The only acoustic track on the record. I'm joined by the Norwegian guitarist Mads Eriksen (My mentor and former teacher) on this song. In my opinion Mads is Norway's premier guitarist and one of the world’s best players. Check out some of his albums on Spotify or iTunes and you'll see what I'm talking about. On "Quality Time" I had the chords ready, and Mads added his part on top and it fitted perfectly. The recording is done live in the studio and I think we succeeded in getting a very good feeling across. The result is a "feel good" acoustic instrumental and was the obvious choice to end the album.
I was certain this was a declaration of love, but I might have been wrong there. Or he’s hiding a part of the history behind the song from me. He could very well be. He he…
Anyhow, this is a fantastic song, and definitely the calmest one on the album. And it’s really a “feel good” song; evocative and it brings forth good memories, even if you don’t have any memories connected directly to this song. This is also one of my favorite tracks – I'm versatile and listen to most anything. The guitar playing here is absolutely amazing, and I think this song would do well live as well. Maybe this will be the closing song on one of Lars Lind Band’s concerts in the future?
I can’t find the any link to the song on YouTube, but if it appears later on I will post it.
